Fugitive who robbed Lockhart bar captured in Washington

UPDATE: Authorities say a man convicted of a Lockhart armed robbery has been captured in Washington after being on the run for the past two years.

O'Ryan DeMarcus Jackson robbed the Korner Bar in Lockhart in 2012.

He was arrested for the crime and sentenced to 10 years probation. But law enforcement lost track of him in July of 2014.

Now, the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force says Jackson was arrested on March 2 in Everett, Washington. He is now in custody at the Snohomish County Jail.

Further details were not immediately available.

Authorities are looking for a man caught in a Lockhart hold-up that has been missing for two years.

O'Ryan DeMarcus Jackson and two other men walked into what was known as the Korner Bar in Lockhart in 2012, just as employees were getting ready to close.

“They came in wearing red bandanas over their face to conceal their identities,” said Hector Gomez, supervisory U.S. Marshal.

With their guns pointed, the men demanded money, cellphones and jewelry

“Three victims as a result were placed inside a freezer”, Gomez said.

When authorities arrived, witnesses were able to identify Jackson and soon after, he was arrested.

“He plead guilty and was sentenced to a ten-year term of probation”, Gomez said.

But since July of 2014, officers have lost track of Jackson.

“We suspect him to be more in the area of Killeen, Bell County area,” Gomez said.

And yet, the possibility of him being in Austin is not off the table, especially since law enforcement believes he could easily repeat his offense.

“He's tasted this form of criminal behavior once and therein lies the possibility that he can do it again,” Gomez said.
