Waco meat packing company recalls over 73,000 pounds of meat over E. coli concerns
Waco based H&B Packing Co.,Inc. has recalled 73,742 of its boneless meat products because of possible E. coli contamination.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, approximately 73,742 pounds of boneless beef products were recalled.
The product is being removed because there is potential it could be contaminated with E. coli, which could cause infections in young children as well as adults or those with weak immune systems.
There have been no confirmed reports of illnesses to date in connection with boneless meat items purchased.
FDA is concerned about the possibility of the meats currently in customers freezers and are urging any customers who have purchased these products to not use them.
The following products are subject to recall:
- 60-lb. box containing boneless beef with case code 69029 and production date 03/06/17.
- Multiple combo bins containing 73,682-lbs of boneless beef with case code 69029 and production date 03/06/17.
