TCSO: Man who stabbed ex-wife multiple times still on the loose

Deputies are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed his ex-wife multiple times Monday night in east Travis County, leaving her in critical condition.

Investigators say at around 11 p.m. the Travis County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call saying that a woman had been stabbed in front of her home at 10424 Kirken Street. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken by Austin-Travis County EMS to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition.

The Sheriff's Office says the suspect is the victim's ex-husband, Rene Jimenes-Cruz, 35 -- he also goes by Felipe Martinez and Felipe Rodriguez. He is described as a Hispanic male, 5'8" tall, 200 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

His last known address was at 814 Lavaca Loop in Elgin. He is known to drive a Green 2011 GMC Acadia with Texas License plates DWV 3815.

Jimenes-Cruz is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon -- family violence, a first degree felony.

The Sheriff's Office says he should be considered armed and dangerous to anyone who approaches him. Anyone with information on his location should call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 512 472- TIPS (8477).
