Taylor Police say they have seized a truck believed to be involved in last Saturday's fatal hit-and-run.

Sharonda Barrett, 16, was walking with her friend on Old Thorndale Road when they were struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene. Barrett died at the scene, her friend is OK.

Police on Friday said they served a search warrant at a Taylor home and seized a 1995 red GMC pickup truck. Police had previously released a suspect vehicle description for a possibly red 1994-1998 Chevrolet or GMC 1500 pickup truck.

Taylor Police have not said if anyone has been charged for the hit-and-run.

The Barrett family has set up an account for Sharonda's funeral expenses under the 'Sharonda Barrett memorial account' at City National Bank in Taylor. The Barrett's also are seeking support through a GoFundMe page.

Taylor Police urge anyone with any information regarding the hit-and-run to call police at 512-352-5551.
