Police investigating Hutto's economic development corporation
A Hutto City Council member is calling for a formal investigation of the city's economic development corporation.
Council Member Nate Killough said there were "very questionable expenditures" and that nearly $15,000 were spent on three conferences out of state.
None of those landed Hutto any business deals.
A spokesperson for the City of Hutto says police have been investigating the economic development corporation for the past two weeks.
"The whole goal is to move Hutto forward, and until we deal with these issues and put them to bed, we'll never be able to do that," Council Member Killough said in a statement. "We owe it to the taxpayers to find out how their money has been spent."
