A man who police say is wanted for murder in El Salvador is accused of assaulting a man with a knife and threatening to cut him up.

According to an affidavit, police arrested Hugo Rolando Sol- Cortez on Saturday around 10:30 a.m. when responding to a call at a mobile home park.

The man told deputies he was renting a room from Sol-Cortez, 23. Before making his call to 911, the victim stated Sol-Cortez and another man, later identified as Erik David Paz-Zavala, pounded on the door to his room and pointed a gun at him. They began punching and kicking the victim asking about a text he apparently sent to Sol-Cortez's girlfriend.

According to documents, the victim told the men the messages were accidentally sent but Sol-Cortez and Paz-Zavala tied the victim up with a shirt, put a belt over his mouth and threatened to chop him up.

The pair released the victim after he promised he would not call the police, but he immediately went to the mobile home park office for assistance and called 911.

Travis County Deputies arrived and took Sol-Cortez and Paz-Zavala into custody.

After learning Sol-Cortez was wanted for murder in El Savador he was turned over to members of the US Marshal's Task Force.
