Man charged with murder for Lockhart woman's stabbing death
A man has been arrested for a woman's stabbing death at a home in Lockhart.
Ruperto Gonzalez, 52, is charged with murder, a first degree felony.
It happened Saturday, Feb. 10, at approximately 10:30 p.m. in the 800 block of North Commerce Street.
The Lockhart Police Department says officers responding to a welfare check call had to forcibly enter the home. Inside they found Gonzalez coming out of a bedroom -- inside the bedroom they found 61-year-old Edna Juarez suffering from a stab wound.
She was transported to Seton Medical Center in Kyle where she was pronounced deceased.
Gonzalez is in custody at the Caldwell County Jail under a $750,000 bond.
