Man arrested after driving with drugs, gun, 9-year-old daughter in backseat
Police say that a man was arrested after he was driving a black Chrysler vehicle with drugs, a gun and cash with his 9-year-old daughter inside of the car.
According to police, the man identified as 33 year-old Ashley Price, was traveling east bound on Oak Spring approaching Airport Boulevard.
Police say that officers observed that the front wheels of the vehicle had cross the white line and the driver did not respect a stop sign. Police say that the officers began to follow the suspect. After being pulled over, the driver was identified as Price and his 9-year-old daughter was found in the backseat.
After questioning the suspect, police say that the officers detected a faint chemical odor coming from the car, which the driver recognized to be Phencyclidine (PCP), Price was detained in handcuffs and searched.
Police found $1,275 in cash on the suspect and after searching the vehicle they found under the floorboard carpet a plastic bag with 5 pink pills. After breaking the pills apart, it contained a white powdery substance which tested positive for crack/cocaine. Police also found a black semiautomatic . 380 caliber Ruger handgun.
Both the gun and the drugs were seized by the officers and the suspect was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a 2nd degree felony and possession of a firearm by a felon.
