SAN ANTONIO - Authorities arrested a man accused of stealing a car and using it to smuggle illegal immigrants.
According to arrest papers, Ray Rivera, 31, stole a car belonging to an ex-girlfriend's mother and said he had to "take care of some business" in McAllen.
That same day, investigators say they arrested Rivera in connection with a human smuggling case in South Texas. The ex-girlfriend helped agents identify Rivera as the man who stole the car.
He is charged with theft of a car, as well as federal charges of smuggling undocumented persons, the reports says.
