Three gang members have pleaded guilty to federal charges in connection to the shooting death of a teenager in South Austin in 2015.

The body of 16-year-old Darian Longira was discovered in January 2016 along Onion Creek in the 5000 block of Bonneville Bend.

The U.S. Department of Justice said last October that Richard Ortega, Orlando Arroyo, and Brian Aguayo planned to kidnap, shoot and kill Longoria in December of 2015.

All three men are members of the "Dove Springs Gangsters." Investigators say the men thought Darian was involved in drug robberies.

"Thinking of everything that might have happened, everything that he might have gone through suffered, it's just been probably the worst that I have gone through in my entire life," Darian’s mother Guillerma Longoria told CBS Austin.

Ortega and Arroyo pleaded guilty to kidnapping in aid of racketeering, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and discharging a firearm during a drug trafficking crime and possession/use/carrying a firearm in relation to a crime of violence resulting in death.

Aguayo pleaded guilty to kidnapping in aid of racketeering and conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
