Fugitive South Austin crime boss captured
U.S. Marshals say a fugitive South Austin crime boss has been captured.
Francisco Villa-Gomez Jr. is considered a top offender in the South Austin area and is known for leading police on reckless chases.
Authorities say he's the leader of a criminal organization responsible for a recent spike in crime.
Villa-Gomez also goes by the alias "Cisco." Police say his criminal enterprise commits auto thefts, property crimes, trafficking of firearms and large quantities of drugs in South Austin.
Police attempted to arrest Villa-Gomez in July but he fled in a vehicle -- driving into oncoming traffic to escape.
Now, U.S. Marshals say on Friday, Nov. 11, they received a tip and they were able to arrest him at a local gas station.
Authorities say Cisco failed to comply with officers on scene and had to be stunned by a Taser. U.S. Marshals say he had multiple firearms in his vehicle when he was arrested.
