Fire causes $175k damage to S. Austin pizza shop
AUSTIN, Texas —
A south Austin pizza shop expected to stay closed Friday morning after flames broke out overnight.
It happened at the 1224 block of S. Lamar at around 11:57pm.m. Thursday, AFD reported.
Firefighters say the Southside Flying Pizza only closed 30 minutes before the calls came out around midnight.
Workers inside an EXXON gas station next store say they started filling up their store.
Fire crews quickly put out the flames before anyone got injured. According to investigators, the fire started at the electrical office and then spread out.
The Fire Department says the flames caused a $175k damage to the pizza place, plus another $5k in smoke damage to the EXXON nextdoor.
No other details were immediately available.
