Democratic VP nominee Sen. Tim Kaine campaigns in Austin
AUSTIN, Texas (KEYE) - Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia spoke at a campaign event in Austin Tuesday afternoon.
It happened at the Travis County Democratic Coordinated Office in East Austin.
He was in Austin to continue a jobs tour and thank volunteers for their work. He discussed Hillary Clinton's 100-Days Jobs Plan to "build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top."
"If you just really look at the comparison, and then the neutral observers that are trying to say what's best for the country, they're saying Hillary Clinton's the 'you're hired president,' and Donald Trump would be the 'you're fired president,'" Kaine said.
According to Kaine, economists project that Trump would lose over 3 million jobs during his term and create a lengthy recession.
Clinton and Kaine will face Republicans Trump and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence in the Nov. 8 general election.
