Cool at School: Sommer Elementary students helping The Round Rock Serving Center

Sommer Elementary students of Round Rock ISD recently sold products they made at a fair on campus. It's part of project based learning. Students learn their action and apply their projects that reflect real life.

Third grade students, Kerry Vo and Megan Trammel are the masterminds behind K&M Crayons. This adorable duo learned about economics in class, and applied their knowledge in the product sold at this fair, "We learned about advertising and selling stuff and how to make your business and being an entrepreneur," said Trammel.

K&M Crayons are just some of the few items for sale at this fundraising event. Money raised through all sales will go to The Round Rock Serving Center, that helps feed thousands, "It feels good because we are helping people that don't always get food every day," said Vo.

Creating crafty projects to help others in need is what makes the students at Sommer Elementary cool at school.
