Cool at School: AISD students perform with The Austin Symphony Orchestra
4th and 5th graders of Austin ISD shared the stage at The Long Center for the Performing Arts, with The Austin Symphony Orchestra. It's part of the young people concerts.
Anna Penado is a student from Metz Elementary School, "Every time we went to music class we practiced and if we had trouble with something we had to do it for homework and had to practice at home," she said.
9-year-old Ana Moran was a little anxious about getting on the big stage, "Because I am singing in front of a lot of people I really don't know. and I haven't really sung before on stage only once," she said.
Students were also able to showcase their music skills. 10-year-old Bianca Avila learned the recorder for this performance, "It's hard, when you put the fingers in the hole, it's really hard because you have to put your left hand on top and right hand on the bottom, so it's complicated," said Avila.
More than 14 thousand AISD students attended these performances for 3 days before summer break.
