Coach accused of hitting student with dodgeball hard enough to cause hearing loss

A Texas coach is being accused of hitting a child with a dodgeball so hard, the eight-year-old lost his hearing.

Loretta Houston says she's beyond angry over what happened to her son Lawrence while he was playing dodgeball at his school in La Porte.

She says she was told Lawrence targeted another student first -- then the coach responded by pelting him with a dodgeball.

A doctor told Houston her son's hearing loss might last up to a week.

Houston says the coach called her to admit what happened, and apologized. But she doesn't think he was sincere and has filed a police report.
