Boone elementary to hold public meeting on sexual assault investigation
Thursday, parents of Boone Elementary School students are invited to meet for an updated on a recent sexual assault investigation.
Last February, parents of a 4-year-old girl reported that they believed their daughter had been assaulted at school. Medical records showed that there was "sexual assault by bodily force."
However, the case was dismissed by AISD Police. After reviewing the investigation, the Travis County District Attorney said last week that there was insufficient evidence to pursue criminal charges.
According to AISD Police, two separate sexual assault claims at Lanier High School and Hart Elementary are still under review. Now, the school district says every employee will be required to take training courses on the code of conduct, recognizing neglect, etc.
AISD Police will also dedicate two officers to investigating claims of sexual assault.
The meeting for parents starts at 6:00p.m. in the Boone Elementary Cafeteria.
