Austin Fire Department battles house fire in NW Austin

AUSTIN, Texas- The Austin Fire Department battled a house fire in northwest Austin Sunday morning.

According to AFD, the fire started around 11:03 a.m. near the intersection of Petite I Cove and Spicewood Parkway.

Austin Fire was reporting large volume of fire venting from the 2nd story of the home.

AFD crews stated they were entering defensive mode at 11:35 a.m.

Austin Travis County-EMS were on scene assisting the Austin Fire Department crews needing rehab.

AFD tweeted out at 12:06 p.m. the fire was under control.

The Austin Fire department says one occupant inside the house escaped the fire uninjured.

Cause of the fire has not been determined. Damage estimates are $600,000 structure and $100,000 contents. The Red Cross is assisting displaced residents.
