APD: Body found in West Campus, unrelated to stabbings

Police say a body was found Monday evening in the West Campus area.

According to Austin Police, a body was found near the intersection of Nueces and 27th streets after a check welfare call.

Police could not provide further information. Homicide detectives are investigating.

Earlier on Monday a stabbing was reported at the Nueces and 26th streets intersection. Police are asking for the public's help in locating that suspect.

At approximately the same time as the stabbing in West Campus a student was killed in a knife attack on the nearby University of Texas campus.

According to the Austin Police Department, the body found was unrelated to the two previous incidents that took place that day.
