18-wheeler crash scatters onions across I-35 access road
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- An accident involving two 18-wheelers tied up traffic along a section of the Interstate 35 access road in New Braunfels Tuesday morning.
Police say two big rigs collided on the northbound frontage road along the 5600 block of Interstate 35 South on the south end of New Braunfels Tuesday morning. One of the trucks was carrying a load of metal, the other a large load of onions.
The load of onions ended up scattered across the access road, forcing police to partially close the road until crews could clean up the mess. The New Braunfels Police Department posted on their Facebook page at 10:28 a.m. that the cleanup could take "another hour or two."
Police say both of the drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to local hospitals.
