Forever Families: Liliana
8-year-old Liliana is thriving in her foster home but she's ready to be in a forever family. She spent some time enjoying the rides at Catch Air in Round Rock. She's cute and curious. Liliana has blossomed in Becky Rivera's foster home.
"She wakes up in the morning in a great mood. She has learned to put on her own socks and shoes," said Becky.
The Rivera's have taken care of Liliana for three years. Lily is on the autism spectrum. She is non-verbal but has made important progress through structure and a safe environment.
"Everything runs on a schedule. During the week, we do not deviate from the schedule," said Becky.
Transitioning to a forever family will take time, according to Lily's Wendy's Wonderful Kids Adoption Recruiter Anna Parris.
"I think a forever family would be someone that can provide a lot of individualized attention, a lot of structure and routine and familiar with special needs," said Parris.
Parris is dedicated to finding the right match.
"It's making sure that family has enough support and energy to keep up with her," said Parris.
The Rivera's will share what they've learned to keep Lily on a path of growth.
"From the moment she gets up, she's curious and ready to go," said Becky.
Liliana is featured in The Heart Gallery of Central Texas a program of Partnerships for Children. You can read her bio to learn more about Liliana and adoption. CBS Austin Forever Families airs every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
