Forever Families: Keyshawn
14-year-old Keyshawn has a heart bigger than Texas that's ready to meet a family to share it with.
"He'll ask me every time I see him, has somebody picked me? And saying no is very hard but I know somewhere there is someone for him," said Adoption Preparation Worker Christina Zertuche.
Zertuche has been by Keyshawn's side for years.
"I really feel like this is a calling for me. I love my kids," she said of the twenty cases she manages.
"She's my caseworker," explained Keyshawn. We asked why he has such a great relationship with Zertuche.
"Because she's a nice caseworker. She gets me everything I want," said Keyshawn.
But more than anything, Zertuche wants Keyshawn to find his forever family.
"I would be in tears of happiness. Because he deserves it. He's the sweetest baby boy and he deserves a family to love him," said Zertuche.
CBS Austin met Keyshawn at his favorite place to play, Chuck E. Cheese. Keyshawn played the basketball game first. He wants to be a basketball player when he grows up.
"I want them to see my kids for who they are and not a name and a diagnosis on paper. If they got to know them they would fall in love with them like I do," said Zertuche.
Keyshawn also loves the outdoors and swimming. He's mellow and relates well to younger children. You can read more about him and how to adopt a Central Texas foster child at heartgallerytexas.com.
