Police searching for Central Austin bank robbery suspect

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the man who robbed a Central Austin bank Saturday afternoon.

It happened at around 12:30 p.m. at the BB&T Bank located at the Airport Boulevard and North Lamar intersection.

Investigators say the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded cash. He then fled the scene on foot. There were no reported injuries during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5' 8", approximately 160 lbs., with an average build.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black shoes, a white knitted mask, and white gloves.
